who is @theLifeTailored?
well the first thing you should know is this #thot tweets in third-person more often than naught
a 🧵 for the adventurous
i've been 1337 since 1996, learning the lingo on battle.net slinging Starcraft
i saw then, what i see now, that Clans are the key to Community
but of course, i didn't take the initiative to do anything about it, so i started selling on eBay
i realized that XXXL women's could be flipped for a 4X profit, so long as i could convince my mom to take me to Walmart every sunday for final-markdowns
flipping JPEGs is pretty much the same thing. buy in at mint 0.088 and flip for 4X at reveal
in college, i graduated to flipping Dell CRT monitors on eBay
i parlayed this venture, and via the entrepreneurship club at the University of Florida into a CMO role at @Grooveshark
not only was i in charge of Sales and Marketing, i was also the Janitor
after getting sued by all four major record labels, and realizing that sales was not for me, i started flipping websites
i bought my first website, TripletsMommy.com, for $10k and sold it for $40k a year later
having seen how powerful SEO was, i took our SEO supplier and turned it into our own business
in less than two years and with minimal startup capital, we sold it for half a mil.
from here, onward, i thought, "wow, this getting rich thing would be easy"
that is, until one fine day in December. i wsa in Jacksonville Beach, tagging along with Her as she was doing her outside sales job
my business partner at the time, thought i was "cheating on him", so like any sane person...
he locked me out of all accounts and proceeded to run the business straight into the ground
it was at this point when i had it all taken away, that we moved to New York to start over
in New York, we discovered everything the world had to offer that we had been missing out on, having lived for 4 additional years in our college town
since we were broke, we got to experience it all by being a secret shopper.
scribbling notes about the maitre d, the waiter, the runners, and every single detail associated with the business
it was exhausting, but exhilarating. we were able to eat at restaurants we had only read about, for free, so long as they accepted our report 😬
along the way, i launched a blog, lifetailored.com, that told my friends and followers anything cool i was discovering in the city
Uber, Lyft, Bonobos, Postmates
i earned $ thousands in free credits and parlayed my role as one of the largest affiliates @Postmates into a Growth role
and alongside a Performance Marketing Agency i was running, i racked up millions of credit card points
those points turned into first class flights all over the world, and there we were, in the most beautiful places in the world, watching people ...intentionally removing themselves from this moment
by taking a photo
what we realized was that no matter how beautiful the photo was, whomever was taking it, was not in the picture
and that's when we realized there had to be a better way, and that was the moment we launched @CaptureOS
it was an on-demand photography platform, that if you pressed a button, you would get a photographer in 1 hour or less
we launched in NYC in december of 2019, with 784 photographers, and had one hell of a first 30 days
we shot 13 couples and closed a $10 Billion client, and i did it completely bootstrapped, all by myself
to execute this contract, i hired two upwork contractors, and together with tape, slack, google sheets and zapier, automated all the work we delivered in the next two months
with two more deals in the pipeline and the operations side going swimmingly, it seemed like the future was bright
that is, until March of 2020. the day the world changed forever. we lost our big contract, our two prospects, and i failed to pivot or see the opportunity
i was so mired in the life or death (or so i believed) situation we were in that i couldn't think rationally about how to save my business
i was so focused on saving our lives. in hindsight, it was both my fault, the company i kept and the news sources i was consuming
my brand, Life, Tailored, was also in the toilet as brands pulled back all spending (thanks)
leaving me just my Performance Marketing company, which had fallen on hard times due to neglect, and mainly because Capture was doing so well
so back to work i went, putting the work into rebuilding the company
by june of 2020, i had readied the ship and listed it for sale, for quite a pretty penny
by november of 2020, i realized that the broker had overpriced it be 2-3x, meanwhile, the business lost a key client that month
there was a rollup of affiliate marketing companies happening in november of 2020, and it swallowed one, two or three of my clients, basically driving the business to zero
that month, at long last, i got covid, and it was while on bedrest, quarantining from my wife of 15 years, that i realized i had to do something
so with $10k in capital and in 6 months, i launched and sold a Medicare brand for 6-figures
from there, i was finally free to do anything or everything to get me back on top
i spent 6 months getting my PhD from The Crypto College, and that's how i ended up on Christmas Eve, purchasing @mayc28258
my wife, of 15 years, had given me the gift that rescued me. she had given me enough capital for me to cobble my pennies together to buy a mutant at 8.8 ETH
the rest, as they say or as i hope, is History
now, my goal is to continue rewriting my story of Redemption, building out @CaptureOS @Memberoneio
my goal is to help my Frens & Family accomplish anything they want and deserve in life, knowing that i always have their back
